Goal Setting Checklist
It is common for leaders to want to do the goal setting for their subordinates. But, best practice for goal setting is to make the process a collaborative one that fosters engagement and inclusivity. Some tips to remember:
Goals should be clear and specific
Goals should be measurable
Goals should be challenging but attainable
Goals should be aligned with the mission and vision of the organization
A time period for the accomplishment of goals should be established
If leaders make the goal setting exercise a collaborative one, employees will be more engaged and motivated to achieve the goals they assist in developing!
